Ornament Along: Supply List!
Happy Holidays!
It's time to get out the tree, or chop one down, and start planning the ornaments with which we will completely cover every last inch of it. I am so pumped!
Mister Domestic and I will alternate weeks posting tutorials, starting with me on October 2. There will be prizes each week! Make sure to use the hashtag #ornamentalong on your Ornament Along posts on Instagram to be eligible for that week's prize.
Supplies you'll need:
Make sure to also visit Mathew's blog for the list of supplies needed to complete his ornaments! Find his list here.
Fabric - You should be able to make my six ornaments from no more than six fat quarters. I am choosing my fabrics from a fat quarter bundle of Shimmer On by Jennifer Sampou for Robert Kaufman, as well as her Essex, Manchester, and Yarn Dyes coordinates (see yumminess above).
Mod Podge
Exacto Knife
Polystyrene Balls - I got 2" ones, but you can get anywhere from 2-4" ones and they'll be great
Ribbon - 1/8 wide for hanging, and various widths for optional embellishments. I got this in silver
Pellon 72F Interfacing, 2 sided fusible - you'll need less than 1/2 yard for my project.
Spray Starch - I normally use Best Press for all things sewing and weaving related, but I got Faultless because it's heavier
Mini embroidery hoops - You can use any size you think will look cute on the tree, but I picked 3" ones.
Optional Supplies:
Beads for embellishing
Glitter Paint. Well, any paint would work, in case you want to paint your embroidery hoops. It's the holidays, though, so go with glitter! I used glitter paint we got from the kids’ Nana.
Okay, are you ready to do this thing? Me too!
Check back here on Monday, October 2 for the first ornament tutorial. We'll be using fabric, thread, and ribbon - so you've got some extra time to gather your other supplies!
See you in a week!
